Cestos

Cestos

Cestos is one of the first multi-player games for android (if not the first, actually), developed by Chicken Brick Studios. The game is quite simple – you have to knock your opponent’s marbles in pits and don’t let your own fall. Game is turn based, the turns are simultaneous. Basic stage, “Black Hole”, is intended for 1v1 action and players get 3 marbles each. Some maps can support up to 4 players playing at once.

Tap Play, wait a few seconds, and you are now matched with an enemy. As you notice from the screenshot above, your “avatars” are customizable, and you will get more options to choose from as you get more experience and level-up.

Fruit Ninja [by Halfbrick Studios] is genuinely beautiful casual game with simple yet addictive game-play. Your game will take the role of Ninja in this game, slicing various juicy fruits as they appear on the screen in 3D. It was recently brought to android platform and is insanely popular.

There are two modes to play, Zen and Classic. In Zen mode you have 90 seconds and in that time you need to slice as much fruit as possible and get as much points for that. Slashing 3 or more fruits at once doubles your points. In classic time doesn’t matter, what matter is precision – you have bombs flying around you don’t want to slice – also if you miss 3 fruits, you are over!

Bonsai Blast

Bonsai Blast

Bonsai Blast [by Glu Mobile] is a puzzle shooter game.  When I started playing, it instantly reminded me of Heavenly Sword. Yes, they are very different games, but both of them can be described by just one word – beautiful. Bonsai blast is yet another group the colored balls game, however, it’s the most original game of the genre.

Caligo Chaser is a hack and slash RPG game by Korean developer [Com2uS] recently ported to Android platform. The game features best graphics I have ever seen on any mobile game of this genre. Controls are what you may expect on the touchscreen device: left thumb controls movement with joystick and right thumb hacks, slashes and uses magic skills. You also have to navigate game menu using your left D-pad and right buttons (big one for OK, small one for BACK) which is something you need to get used to since it is not intuitive for touch screen device, but items in the menu are so small there is no way it would be useful otherwise. In this game you will have a lot of items, weapons and skills to choose from, especially in paid version.

Super Tumble

Super Tumble

Super Tumble [by Camel Games] is another physics game from these guys. I’m starting to like these developers because Super Tumble turned out great. It has cleverly stacked Tetris-like blocks that explode when touched. So you’re both entertained and using your brain at the same time. It’s fun to play, but be careful because it gets addictive.

Overkill

Overkill

Overkill [by Creative Mobile] a side-scrolling shooter full of mindless action. This is my kind of game, no thinking, just pure skill and an infinite amount of explosions and adrenaline. This game is just as enjoyable as watching a 90′s action movie.
